Peter Llewellyn-Jones receives an Honorary Fellowship from Sir Richard Evans, Chancellor of the University of Central Lancashire, in recognition of his 'outstanding achievements' in the field of sign language interpreting.





Postgraduate Diploma

The number of students who have achieved the SLI/UCLan Postgraduate Diploma in BSL/English Interpreting and Translation and therefore eligible to join the NRCPD Register of Interpreters now totals 205 with 4 qualified interpreters having also achieved the award.

With the 43 interpreters who have qualified through SLI via the NVQ route we have trained and qualified almost half of the interpreters in Great Britain.

It is anticipated that a further 30 students will be eligible to join the register upon completion of their studies in October 2010.
